Log Homes
We offer a complete log home building service including architectural drawings and planning applications, ground works and footings, installation of services and complete construction to full UK building regulations. We will even help to move in the furniture! If you are a self-builder we can offer a log work only package providing the main structure of your cabin for you to fit out yourself!
The logs that we use are all sourced sustainably, with this in mind we are working in conjunction with a new government initiative 'the code for sustainable homes' this code requires all new build homes in the UK to be 'carbon neutral' by 2016. Using our log building methods skillfully designed to integrate the most up to date sustainable living solutions we are able to construct the UKs best eco-homes.
Our log homes are either traditionally handcrafted or profiled using a log lathe imported
from Finland we produce 10 inch diameter profiled logs.
Cool in summer and warm in winter - the logs act like a large thermal battery, storing and releasing heat at a slower rate than a conventionally built house.
Interlocking corners make the log cabin a long lasting, structurally solid building. The tight joints, sealed with a special 100% elastic log cabin
mastic ensure minimal heat loss through the walls of
the building.
We generally use Western Red Cedar or Douglas Fir in our log homes but can also use Larch, Spruce and various other species.
